We are in the
highway hospitality and service business and our success is
determined by not just meeting but exceeding our customers
expectations, creating a work environment which attracts and
holds capable, conscientious, honest and dedicated employees,
and maintaining a relationship with our suppliers where they
can grow and participate in our success.
Our
Customers:
We will provide our customers with friendlier and more courteous
service than is available elsewhere. Furthermore, we will
market high quality products from facilities second to none.
We will be fairly and competitively priced on all products
and services. We will treat our customers as we ourselves
would like to be treated.
Our
Employees:
Our employees are the primary key to our success. To attract
and hold quality people, we strive to pay competitive wages,
offer attractive fringe benefits by industry standards and,
most of all, provide a challenging, high integrity environment
with unlimited growth opportunities where rewards are based
on performance.
We
require high standards for employee performance. We believe
in rewarding people according to their abilities and the time
and effort put forth. We want to share the profits of our
company with those who help produce the profits. Employees
are judged on the actual performance in meeting company objectives.
There is absolutely no place in our company for poor, substandard
performance, which in the long run hurts all of our employees
as well as our customers.
We
expect complete honesty and loyalty to the company, and we
expect all employees to live by the rules and regulations
of the company. Employees should always be guided by a sense
of personal honor. Personal integrity is one of the most valuable
assets an employee can possess. If any employee has a question
about a course of action, the answer should instinctively
be: Do what is ethically right and morally proper. Dishonesty
cannot and will not be tolerated at any level or in any relationship
with customers, suppliers, other employees, or the company.
We
want positive, active thinkers because we recognize we live
in a time of constant change. Therefore, we will provide an
atmosphere in our company where suggestions for improvement
are freely exchanged, evaluated, and acted upon. We must seize
and exploit every new opportunity to get the job done in a
more effective and efficient way. We maintain an "open
door" policy. If any employee thinks he or she has been
treated unfairly, the employee can take his or her complaint
to the next highest official...right up to the president of
the company.
Collectively,
we must have an intense desire to be number 1. We must all
be builders. Decisions must be company decisions, not one
person's decisions. We must put all the facts on the table,
make the decision, and then have everyone support the decision.
There is not room in the company for backbiters and second
guessers who don't get their own way.
In
order to provide career opportunities for our people, we must
commit ourselves to a sound, planned pattern of growth. To
finance and grow, we must have profit. And, to be profitable,
we must have loyal and productive employees who want to succeed
and who want to have the company succeed.
Management
level employees are expected to operate under the philosophy
that: No employee will ever be treated as a number and each
employee will be treated with dignity and respect.
Management
realizes that growth creates extra demands on the time of
key individuals creating situations which sometimes can be
misinterpreted as lack of interest in the welfare of an individual
or group of employees. It is during these times that members
of the management team must rededicate themselves to the philosophy
of the company, that all employees will treat other employees,
customers, and suppliers as they themselves would like to
be treated.
Our
Suppliers:
Our suppliers are key to our long-term success. We must be
fair and honest with our suppliers. In order for that relationship
to last and prosper, the relationship must fill a need for
each person involved in the relationship. We expect top performance
from our suppliers and commit ourselves to perform at the
same level.
Our
Company:
Our company must deserve and earn the respect of our customers,
suppliers, competition and, most of all, our employees. We
want a company where everyone of us is proud to say "I
helped make Flying J what it is!" |
